During the past eight weeks I have been introduced to some
vital research and professional websites on early childhood issues and trends.
The knowledge I obtained from these resources have supported my professional
growth in many ways. I found a wealth of
information I can use to enhance my understanding of conditions of early care
and education programs around the world. My perspective of early care and education has
been enlarged by this knowledge.
It is amazing that educators around the world are experiencing
some of the same issues when it comes to early care and education. Such issues
as poverty, equity and quality in early care and education.
My abilities to support children and families has increased
with the information I obtained while exploring the different websites. I gained
a deeper passion for specifies of my profession and the many professionals who
share this passion. I want to explore other platforms in which I maybe apart to
learn more and assist with educating children, parents and the community.
My goal is to continue to grow professionally by continuing
to stay informed of the much changing information about the issues of child
care and education. I thank all my colleagues for the information they have
contribute to increase my knowledge of the issues, strategies, and their compassion
and goals. My their compassion for children and the issues that affect children
be the wind at their back to encourage them to meet their goals for making a
different in all children lives.
I like you have gained so much along this journey so far and also a better understanding and passion for early childhood that is not necessarily ignited in the everyday business of Directing a facility but reminding yourself that the children are the reason for everything and they are in need both near and far.
ReplyDeleteI like how you said " My perspective has been enlarged" This is so true and such a great visual. I agree with you that the more our knowledge increases the better we are able to support children and their families.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you have a passion and a desire to be the best you can be within this field. I love it. I hope we have more classes together because I have enjoyed your insights. Thank you!!
Hello Barbara,
ReplyDeleteI have really enjoyed discovering that I have many things in common with international contacts and this will keep me encouraged and focused on my mission to continue my journey within the field. I am even more intrigued to discover that you and I have a common interest as well and that is to continue to grow professionally and want to pursue passion and will to work as hard as I can to help the children that are in need.
Hi Barbara,
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful that we have a better understanding of the new learnings of the early childhood field. However it was over whelming to find that professional teachers in the United States are experiencing some of the same issues as our international colleagues. At some point you would think that our policy makers here in the U.S. would be somewhat more advanced or realized more on having a better understanding when it came to providing what is best for our children when it came to setting an effective foundation for our young children seeing that we are a more profitable state. At some point I hope those in charge of policy making and applying funds realize that you cannot keep a bandage on a sore and expect for it to heal. You have to open it up and see the progress of the healing. Just like our children we have to help them giving our best, not putting a little bandage on a problem hoping it will get a solution to a problem, but taking a close look at how an issue can be fixed overall.
Last I would like to thank you Barbara for your wonderful post each week, the resources, and information you have shared with us each week. As your colleague in the early childhood field I wish you the best as you move forward and I know we will meet again. Hope to see you soon.
I enjoyed reading your post these past eight weeks and you are right I gain so much knowledge each week hearing difference prospective from others teachers across the world on what they are doing to help improve the education of our young toddlers. Thanks for sharing your ideas week after week with us!!.
ReplyDeleteBarbara,
ReplyDeleteI love the passion you have for the children. Helping children reach for excellence is our goal as professionals. Staying informed is the key to being a professional. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences.
